Work to stop bullying Bullying at School

If you think your child is being bullied or is bullying others www.hertsdirect.org/bullying gives advice on how to deal with this upsetting problem and gives a helpful list of contact numbers for advice.

The police will also get involved if bullying continues outside school. Bullying, done repeatedly is an offence under the Harassment Act. Police will issue a warning and, if the bullying continues, arrest and prosecution in a juvenile Magistrates Court for children under 18 years old follows.

Please note that children under 10 years old are exempt from prosecution because they are deemed too young to be responsible for their own actions.

For more information contact schools liaison officer PC Steve May on 01442 271077 or contact him on steve.may@herts.pnn.police.uk
