Meals-on-Wheels

The Borough Council’s Meals-on-Wheels Service could not run without the many voluntary helpers who pack the hot meals into boxes and deliver them to the elderly who are too frail to shop and cook for themselves. One of the great rewards of volunteering, according to the helpers themselves, is the opportunity to stop and have a little laugh and a chat with some very interesting elderly residents.

Volunteers can either be a driver or a helper and mileage is paid from home to home. Deliveries are made in teams of two. Helpers need only commit to once a week. We are particularly interested to hear from anyone who can help in Hemel Hempstead.

To volunteer and for more information phone 01442 228503 or email moria.davies@dacorum.gov.uk
