Young Adults
For most young people, becoming involved in crime
is a phase linked to such things as family breakdown, drugs or
peer pressure.
Reducing and preventing youth crime is the task
of Hertfordshire’s Youth Justice Service. From its local
office (Greenhills, Tenzing Road, Hemel Hempstead, Herts, HP2
4HS. Telephone 01442 388755) it helps young people aged from 10-17
involved in crime.
Staffed by social workers from Hertfordshire County
Council, the police and the probation and health services, the
organisation uses innovative ways of bringing home to offenders
the impact of their crime.
