Tenants’ & Residents’ Associations

Better TogetherA Tenants or Residents’ Association is a group of residents with similar aims who join together to try to improve the area in which they live.

Their united voice is a more effective way of communicating with their landlord. Involvement gives tenants, leaseholders and other residents a voice and a chance to bring change and influence decisions.

As well as working to improve the area in which they live, tenants’ and residents’ associations organise social events such as fun days and street parties. Activities like these help unite residents of all ages and encourage further participation.

The local improvement activities can be as simple as litter picks or bulb and shrub planting projects and appeal to local children and give them a sense of pride in their area.

If you would like more information about setting up a tenants’ or residents’ association, or would like to act as an individual voice for your area, please ring 01442 228966 or email sue.prowse@dacorum.gov.uk
