What are the benefits of Tenant Participation in Dacorum?

  • Improves communication between the Council and the tenants - which invariably makes the tenants feel more involved
  • gives you more choice and more power over your home and the area in which you live
  • brings a stronger sense of community.

Dacorum has:

  • A Leaseholder Group a Borough-wide group that represents the views of leaseholders
  • The opportunity to join a Council housing focus group for the Borough. A focus group is a small number of residents who are brought together by the Council as an informed sounding board to make recommendations and influence decisions. Typical subjects for discussion might be landscaping, repairs and maintenance or improving community safety.
  • Residents’ discussion and problem solving groups called “single issue focus groups” set up by the Council to make sure that communication with tenants most closely affected by a major project is good for the duration of that project, i.e., major refurbishment works.
  • Annual tenant satisfaction survey. This is compiled throughout the year by sending a survey to 165 randomly selected tenants across the Borough every month. The results are published annually.

If you are interested in having your say and would like to put your name down on the Focus Group Register, contact the Tenant Participation Team on 01442 228961 or 01442 228966 or email gill barber @dacorum.gov.uk
