When a dispute with your neighbour gets out
of hand use Mediation Dacorum
Mediation Dacorum is an independent organisation
based in Hemel (3 Halsey Drive, Hemel Hempstead, HP1 3SE. telephone
01442 268044) run by local people and offering a free service
to anyone in experiencing any kind of problem with their neighbour.
It acts as a “go-between” to help the two sides start
to talk to one another. The dispute might be about a hedge or
fence or about car parking.
The way it works is that two mediators, who are
trained volunteers, will listen to one side of the story. The
mediators will then set out all the ways the dispute might be
resolved. Mediators do not take sides in a dispute or decide who
is right or wrong.
The mediators will continue to work with both parties,
either by bringing them together or meeting them individually.
Everything told to the mediators is kept private and confidential.
