Berkhamsted High StreetIf you live in Berkhamsted, Hemel Hempstead, Tring and the surrounding villages, if you work in the Borough, or if you have plans to move into the Borough of Dacorum, this site is relevant to you.

2008/2009 Strategic Assessment - Dacorum Community Safety Partnership is the preferred name for the Dacorum Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership (CDRP).
Dacorum Community Safety Partnership is a wide partnership with the following statutory members

Dacorum Borough Council
Hertfordshire Police Authority
Dacorum Primary Care Trust
Hertfordshire County Council
Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service
Hertfordshire Constabulary

The Dacorum Community Safety Partnership has welcomed the recent figures showing that crime in Dacorum has fallen by 17% in the last three years - and has announced how it willcontinue the fight in 2008-09

The Partnership was set the stiff target of reducing crime in the Borough by 15.7% by the Government back in 2005. Since then the Partnership - including the Council, Hertfordshire Constabulary, Hertfordshire Fire Service and other agencies - has worked hard to achieve this target.

Councillor Nick Tiley, Chair of Dacorum Community Safety Partnership, said "When I was first told three years ago that we had to reduce crime by nearly 16% over a three year period I was a bit daunted by the prospect. Three years down the track, because of the tremendous spirit of cooperation between all the members of the Partnership, we have done it -with a bit to spare. One single partner could not have done this alone. Well done to all partners and well done to all those who work with and for them."

The Partnership is now planning to build on this success and has already outlined its priorities for the coming year:
* To tackle anti-social behaviour, including criminal damage
* To reduce vehicle crime, particularly theft from a vehicle
* To reduce the effects of substance misuse and to bring down levels of drug and alcohol related crime
* To reduce theft from a person, particularly focusing on our town centres
* To reduce instances of dwelling burglary, in particular where distraction is used by the offenders to gain entry to the property
* To increase feelings of safety, particularly in Hemel Hempstead

Dacorum's Community Safety Partnership - including Dacorum Borough Council, Hertfordshire Constabulary, the Primary Healthcare Trust, Herts County Council, and the Fire and Rescue Service - aims to make Dacorum even safer and more pleasant and to provide a background where people, communities and businesses can flourish.
