Helping Victims of Crime

This independent charity deals with 2000 referrals a year from the police and local agencies. Trained staff provide a completely confidential listening and information service. They can assist with completion of insurance claims, safety advice, information on the Criminal Justice System, liaise with other agencies on the victims’ behalf, e.g. police, and help to make personal injury claims to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority.

Working together with the Victim Support Magistrates and Crown Court Witness Service, arrangements can be made to support victims and witnesses who have to attend court.

Phone Judie Edwards on 01442 239382 if you would like more information on the Magistrates Court Witness Service.

For those who have not suffered a crime but who feel very concerned about crime in Dacorum, Victim Support can put this fear of crime in perspective and show that Dacorum is one of the safest places to live in Hertfordshire.

Telephone Maria Kealy on 01923 212766 if you would like a leaflet produced by Victim Support giving advice on any of the following subjects:

  • Criminal damage
  • Theft
  • Burglary
  • Violence
  • Rape and sexual assault
  • Murder and manslaughter

Become one of the Victim Support Team - Phone 01923 212766. They need people from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds, and would be very interested to hear from young people in their early twenties, who could help provide support and advice for young victims.
