CarAction Plan

Most car crime can be prevented. This section gives information on the best ways to stop your car being stolen.

The ways you can prevent your car being broken into are much simpler:

  • Put everything out of sight - clothes, cigarettes, even loose change may tempt someone to break a window.
  • Never leave anything valuable in your car. Someone may see you store your lap top or handbag in the boot. It is much safer to take anything of value with you.

The vehicle security national helpline is on 0870 5502006.
