Dacorum Community Safety - Improving Safety

Dacorum Community Safety

We all have the right to go about our daily lives in safety. Improving community safety is one of our highest priorities. We believe that keeping communities safe involves more than just preventing crime and disorder - we must also create social and economic change. But if we are to make our communities safer, we must all work together.

Strategic Assessment 2010 / 2011

National Community Safety Plan

The revised  2008 - 2011 National Community Safety Plan sets out how we will work with local partners and residents to make everyone safer. The plan was updated in December 2008, and is in line with our recent Crime Strategy and the government's public service agreements (new window)

It details how we will concentrate on the following themes over the next four years:

  •   a stronger focus on more serious violence
  •   greater flexibility for local partners to deliver local priorities
  •   a specific outcome to increase community confidence
  •   the need to reflect the increased threat to communities posed by violent extremists.
