Read About Dacorum's Crime Prevention Panel

The work of Crime Prevention Panel stems from guidance by the Home Office and is referred to as 'Partnership Against Crime/Crime Prevention Panels/Manual For Action'. Home Office guidelines that CPP's are to tackle 'real problems with real solutions'.

There are Crime Prevention Panels in Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted and Tring. They are staffed by volunteers, aided by the community police, the Borough Council and shopkeepers who want to make a contribution to the safety and peace of mind of their community. Volunteers dedicate a couple of hours each month to crime prevention. This might involve giving leaflets out in a supermarket car park to warn shoppers to lock their cars and keep shopping out of sight or giving a talk to a local lunch club for the elderly to raise awareness of bogus callers.
