About Us

The Dacorum Community Safety Partnership is structured in the following way:

Dacorum Local Stategic Partnership (Dacorum Partnership)

Dacorum Community Safety Partnership Members Forum (Members)

Dacorum Responsible Authorities (RAOG)

Dacorum Joint Action Group (JAG)

The LSP,established in 2002, is made up of representatives from public, private, voluntary and community sector organisations based in and around the Borough, in line with recommendations from early consultation and government guidance.

This work is being carried out by the community safety partnership made up of:

  • Hertfordshire Constabulary Western Area
  • Dacorum Borough Council
  • Hertfordshire County Council
    Crime and Drugs Strategy Unit
    Youth Offending Team
  • Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service
  • Dacorum Primary Care Trust
  • Hertfordshire Police Authority (and others etc etc)

Hertfordshire remains one of the safest places in the country but Dacorum's Community Safety Partnership wants to reduce these figures even more and has agreed that the priority areas to focus on in Dacorum are:

• To tackle anti-social behaviour, including criminal damage
• To reduce vehicle crime in Dacorum particularly theft from a vehicle
• To reduce the effects of substance misuse in Dacorum, and to bring down levels of drug and alcohol related crimeReduce the fear of crime
• To reduce theft from a person, particularly focusing on our town centres.
• To reduce instances of dwelling burglarly, in particular where distraction is used by the offenders to gain entry to the property.
• To increase feelings of safety, particularly in Hemel Hempstead.

These objectives were developed in close consultation with residents and Councillors, and are supported by local organisations.
