WITNESS APPEAL: ROBBERY IN HEMEL HEMPSTEAD

POLICE are appealing for information and witnesses to a robbery on Queensway, Hemel Hempstead last night (Wednesday, May 12).

At around 4.40pm, it is believed a man who was walking through the Keen Fields Park, which is between Adeyfield Road and Queensway, was approached by two men. It is believed they have punched him in the face and took his wallet and mobile phone before making off on foot towards Downside which leads to St Pauls Road and Queensway. The man suffered slight injuries.

The first offender is described as a broad white man, aged around 30-years-old with dark cropped hair. He was wearing a grey t-shirt with dark grey writing on it and blue stonewashed jeans.

The second offender is described as a broad white man, aged around 25-years-old. He was wearing a red hooded top and black jeans.

Detective Constable Marc Willmore, investigating, said: “It was still light at the time of the offence and the park would have been fairly busy. We're asking anyone who was in the area at that time who may have seen the two men described or indeed seen the incident to contact police.”

Anyone with information should call 0845 33 00 222. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers (an independent charity) anonymously on 0800 555 111.
