WARN MOTORISTS TO AVOID WATERHOUSE STREET TO ENTER
MOOREND ROAD IN HEMEL HEMPSTEAD
Police officers in Hemel Hempstead have issued a warning
to motorists in the town to avoid Waterhouse Street
to gain entry to Moorend Road or face receiving a
fine following recent changes to traffic layout in
the area.
Due to the congestion which was being caused in that
part of town the roads leading off the bottom of Waterhouse
Street are now strictly for use by buses and taxis
only.
Any motorist caught driving down these streets will
receive a £30 fixed penalty notice from police.
Pc Johanna Stuart from the Hemel Hempstead Safer Neighbourhoods
team said: “Due to congestion in that part of town
it has been necessary for us to review traffic layout
with both Dacorum Borough and Hertfordshire County
Councils. We are issuing this as a warning to motorists
as we do not want to surprise people who may normally
use that route.”
