Parents encouraged to get drink-wise
The Dacorum Community Safety
Partnership is offering a pilot course to parents
and in particular young people wanting to learn more
about the affects and consequences of drinking alcohol.
The first course will take place
at Trefoil House in Red Lion Lane, Hemel Hempstead
on Saturday 26 July at 10am.
The course being run by Druglink
aims to warn young people and their parents of the
physical and psychological harms associated with alcohol
and the link between alcohol and violence. It will
also offer practical advice on the unit content of
alcohol.
The sessions will be delivered
to parents and their children simultaneously in different
rooms. Both groups will then be brought together to
discuss the consequences and establish a more responsible
relationship.
Sue Green, Harm Minimisation Manager
from Druglink said 'Druglink as part of the Dacorum
Community Safety partnership recognises that providing
educational information is critical in reducing the
significant risk of alcohol to young people. We welcome
anyone on the course who is concerned about alcohol,
or parents who need support in managing their child's
alcohol consumption.'
